Topographical Survey:

Topographic Survey is determining the relative locations of points (places) on the earth’s surface by measuring horizontal distances, differences in elevation and directions. Topographic maps give the locations of places (observable features) they serve as base maps. Without its Topography is a field of geosciences and planetary science and is concerned with local detail in general, including not only relief, but also natural and artificial features, and even local history and culture.

Contour Survey:

An Imaginary line on the ground surface joining the points of equal elevation is known as contour.
In other words, Contour is a line in which the ground surface is intersected by a level surface obtained by joining points of equal elevation. This line on the map represents a contour and is called Contour line.

Route Survey:

A Route Survey is defined as being the required service and product that adequately locates the planned path of a linear project or right of way which crosses a prescribed area of real estate, extending from at least one known point and turning or terminating at another known point.

Lay-Out Survey/Setting Out Survey:

Setting out is the process of transferring the plan on paper to the actual ground or site of construction. A building is set out in order to clearly define the outline of the excavation and the line of the walls, so that construction can be carried exactly according to the plan.

As-Built Survey:

The purpose of the As-Built Survey – also commonly called a Physical Survey – is to show the property “as it is built” at a particular point in time. While a pre-construction survey is performed to document conditions prior to construction work being performed, the As-Built survey is conducted to show the current state of the site at various stages throughout the duration of a project. It also serves as a close-out document to verify that the work authorized was completed to plans and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

RTK GPS Survey (Coordinate fixing)

With origin dating back to the mid-1990s, Real Time Kinematics (RTK) is a differential GNSS technique which provides high positioning performance in the vicinity of a base station. … RTK, which achieves performances in the range of a few centimeters, is a technique commonly used in surveying applications.
